I have hours of footage of us playing like this.. this is just part one. This happened actually after we were working on a beat so its not technically a warm up just us messing around with sounds etc.

I'm performing at this years jazz fetival with mateo they say that its one of the biggest festivals of the year with over 30 thousand people that attend. This is during the memorial day weekend..

what are you doin it 4?

I wanna let you guys know why I do this blog... It's to just show how long things can take in this industry or sometimes I just want give some helpful information that can help you as a producer or artist. 90% of my career was through trial and error so maybe I can help ya'll not make some huge mistakes I made lol. Idk I just want to be some sort of help. Also with my blog right now I'm trying to find a different way to keep ya'll informed with everything faster instead of writing long stories because I just don't have the time. I think I'm gonna start doin video blogs or something, ill figure it out. I had a story about the whole bleek thing but I just don't have time to edit it right now so hopefully I can put the video up sooner then later and for now I have the picture's below.

Here's the Mateo performances from tuesday. Sorry for the bad sound quality and the person taping barely got me drumming lol, its all good I have a couple performances next week.

From College 2 Hollywood

Ended up having two performances last night with Mateo, one at Cal state and one random one in Hollywood at a place called Hotel Cafe. I have footage from both performances I'll be uploading later tonight. Overall they both were dope. The 2nd performance was better then the first, just because it was more equipped for live performances. We got shown a lot of love there, even Eric Benet was in the crowd. I also got a chance to meet Mateo's other manager who is Quddus from MTV he did total request live for years, so that was koo to meet dude. Footage coming soon!!!!!!!

kick drum & a snare

I had my first rehearsal yesterday with Mateo who is signed to Myspace Records. My manager was hit up by there people to see about me drumming with him for his upcoming shows. We have some dope shows coming up opening for Day26, J Holiday, Jodeci, all types of artist, not to mention is own shows. We even have a show later this month at a Apple store lol. It's weird but dope, hopefully they can give me a discount on a new laptop shooooooooot. We had to have a five hour rehearsal because I didn't know any of his songs and I just got the songs sent to me on friday. At first five hours sounded pretty gruesome, but it's what I love to do plus the musical chemistry was there (pause). The only thing was my left foot (the foot that controls the hi hat) started to feel a little sore, but I think thats just because I haven't played that long since last summer. But I'm excited to see where this goes I get a chance to play during the day and at night go to the studio so it works out. On Tuesday we have our first show @ Cal State and one more rehearsal tomorrow (Monday). I'll be uploading footage from the show on Tuesday!

Producer Conference

Anybody of you producers or artist going to this? It'll be my first time I've been trying to get to one of these ever since it started! If you don't know anything about here's the link it's been big ever since it started.

Solo the track

2 All my producers! how many times have you been record shopping found a sample you liked but they sang something wack over the music, so it basically made the sample pointless? Or the keys that were played over it were terrible and loud and mixed wrong? I've run across that a lot. In the video below khalil showing samples tracked out on protools. Did you hear me??? I said TRACKED OUT which means you can make like 5 beats out of one song. Pretty mind boggling. Theres some big producers getting there joints tracked out now, thats right folks!!! no more record shopping for some of them dudes lol. But like Khalil says in the video we wont be using them :( ....ill prolly do it for fun anyway though why not!!!! you can tell I'm a lil excited (pause) check it out

Kind of a BIG deal

This was the greatest experience ever!!!!!!! Words can't explain. First off, Khalil wasn't even suppose to come back in town until today. He called me Friday night like ,"We going to mix that Clipse and Kanye record tomorrow, be ready." It's crazy because so many people are waiting to hear the record and I got a chance to help mix a little bit! When we got done with the first mix, he asked me if I liked it before we sent it out for them to approve of it. That's an honor for him to even ask that. I'm not tryna get all mushy and ish, but I still can't believe I'm even in this situation. I'm just a kid from south-side Minneapolis LOL... Anyway the experience was dope. It took us 15 hours to get the record where we wanted it to be. We left the studio at about 5am yesterday (Sunday). Of course we have a crazy amount of footage on the session, but that can only come out when the record comes out. Then we'll put all that stuff up. Until then...I can only show the video below.
