My dude, Danny Keys, who does keyboard and violin for us at the studio got his 1st placement with Rza this past year. We were talking the other day about how he played keys and sang on the track for Rza called "Long Time Coming" (seen in video below). Danny saw Rza a couple of weeks after the first studio session, and Rza didn't know who he was. Danny had to continually say, "Remember...I'm on your album. I played keys and sang the hook." Anyway, someone else who was in the studio told us that Rza be on sherm and that's why he's always spaced out. He said he's a good dude, but he's always spaced out. Then I thought what artist of that caliber ISN'T on some type of drug. Sad to think, but it is what it is. Check the joint out. Peace.

Sega Baby...
For some odd reason I have been fasinated with video music, not this new generation of video game music but the old stuff nintendo, super nintendo, and sega genesis. I love how they composed the music, what notes they used and the sounds they used. I love the sounds so much I have my own videogame folder for the sounds that I make, with nothing but video game sounds.

I love them joints so much I get mad when other prouducers use them lol I can't help it.

In the beginning of this beat timbo kills whatever sound he used it reminded me of some sort of final fantasy game when I 1st heard. Anyway once a month I usually cruise Youtube and just type in video game music I listen and replay a lot of songs to understand the feeling that was created. When you replay things it gives you a better understanding as to how they give a certain type of feeling. About a year ago I came across a video on youtube that had an orchestra playing videogame music I just about lost my mind, I sent it to a couple of people I know would appreciate it, but the other day I went back and checked out some more videos then I decided to figure out when these concerts go on. So I goggled it and I found the website. If you are interested in this they have a lot of different our dates might be some inspiration if you are a producer might give you some new ideas.

Bubble Gum

I was going through my videos on my computer and I had this beat me and Khalil made about a month 1/2 ago. His manager came in and we talked about doing more pop music. So when he left I was like "lets not waste time lets do a pop beat then". So I got on the keyboard and he pulled up some pop drums he made, and we just started messing around (pause). A lot of times when we make beats we just play and record it,then we go back and build on the part that was dope. Everytime Khalil has a ruff idea for a beat he puts a instrumental record to it he says that if a song sounds good to the beat most likely its a go. So in the video you see him putting an Obie Trice instrumental to this Bubble Gum beat lol.

Scale Beat (Guitar Track)
Before I get to the music I just gotta address that WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT!!!!! Not just that but it's someone who's going to really change the country for my children. This is what my ancestors fought so hard for. YES WE DID!!!!!!
Ok back to the music. Earlier this year I did a post called "I love music" with me recording my 1st guitar track and playing live drums. Since I have been out in LA, it's one of the tracks that we have beefed up and put a chorus on. This is my favorite track ever because I played drums, guitar, piano and organ on it. It's a beast now! Khalil had Dan Seeff (who has credits on the Jay-Z "Kingdom Come" album and Game's 2nd album as well as a bunch of others ) come in to play bass and guitar over it. Here's the 1st video of me when I recorded it, and the 2nd video is under it. I can't show the final joint and I can't tell which artist has it (you wouldn't believe me anyway!). But TRUST ME, the final joint is crazy!

A day of wisdom
Fasting, electronic plants, no smoking or sex for 10 years are just some of the interesting things me, jay electronica, and khalil talked about. But I was a lil late about pulling the camera out lol. Jay is a interesting dude he also talked about why you shouldn't bother labels to sign you, and how he came across the video of me making a beat in khalils studio earlier this year. But again I missed all that on video sorry...... If your not familiar with Jay electronica you should check him youtube him or something, dudes nice, has a lot of people trying to sign him lil wayne, Nas, jay-z just a new a few heavy weights.

Name change
My dude told me a while back to change my name because of the group Rock City; but this was years ago before they had a single out, and before they were writing for people. I figured it would be good promotion, but now its just getting annoying when people keep getting it mixed up. I'm sticking with the name my momz gave me "Rocky". Somebody sent me this on Facebook. I thought it was funny because I've been getting this a lot lately. So me and my manager decided that my production credits will read "Rocky" from now on.
Heres what the person wrote:
when will you release da album? i did listen to
-ya have to go right now
-losin it
-maxime
-rebek
-a millie (rock city freestyle)à
-i want to be whit you
-i dont wanna leave
thats great stuff...

MIA
1st things 1st... I gotta address why I have been MIA. Things have been crazy for me the last 5 months. Crazy in a good way though. I made some very big changes this year: moving to LA to better my career and to sign with one of the biggest producers in Los Angeles. So far it's been a wild experience and it's just starting. Now that things have calmed down and I'm more settled, I want to keep all my peoples back home (and anybody else who becomes interested in what I have going on) updated. Pictures, videos, beats...I'm going to be uploading all that stuff. Also, I hope you get a chance to get out and vote! I already sent in my absentee ballot. Be easy!!
